(no subject)
Oct. 7th, 2005 10:00 pmI do not like my baby monitor. I need a new one.
Flaws with this one:
1) It transmits low-pitched sounds better than high. This means we hear a lot of static and quiet baby grunts if we want it loud enough to hear him crying. It also means it is very hard for us to test volume, since our voices are clearly audible through it when his cries are still impossible to hear.
2) Its on/off control is the same as its volume control. This means you cannot turn it of without screwing up its carefully calibrated volume setting. Since it takes several tries to put Wesley down (each of which except the last involve crying) this means that either one of us cannot immediately go back to bed after the other goes to deal with him or we will surely screw up volume calibration.
3) The volume knob has nothing to indicate how loud it is. No number, no ticks, nothing. Just a little wheel you turn some random distance and, I suppose, guess how loud it is.
Other things I need:
- A nightlight
- A Halloween costume
- More baby toys
- More medium-sized baby clothes (he's almost outgrown smalls!)
This Mommy thing is complicated.
PS: Many thanks to those who recommended fenugreek. It has been a great help.
